Ok...so in November, I challenged each of you (friends, clients, total IG strangers) to write down three things you were grateful for each night before bed. How'd you do?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
TBH...there were a few days that I didn't write it down before I went to sleep, but I caught up the next day and finished the month tonight with 90 pieces of gratitude! I know that looking back over these things on a bad day will be such a gift!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My challenge for you in December is to be intentional about getting off of your phone well before you go to bed. (Don't tune me out, yet!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Running an online business, hosting a podcast, and honestly just wanting to watch IG stories can sometimes make me feel like my phone is cemented to my hand.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There's nothing that the enemy loves more than to get you defeated right before you try to rest and relax to go to sleep.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you think the enemy won't send something across your feed to make you feel envy, anger, insecurity, shame or whatever your specific struggle is, then you're lying to yourself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Getting off of our phones can be hard, so let's replace that late night habit with something positive. Use that gratitude journal instead, or commit to memorizing a scripture or positive affirmations and recite/write those before bed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After you are done with what you "have" to do each day, lay it down. Set a specific time, or you won't stick with it. Then, read your bible, say your prayers, recite your scripture or affirmations and go to SLEEP!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let me know if you wanna join me on this challenge! Could it be really hard, YES! But could God use it to change us for the better? ABSOLUTELY!!!

I push through because I have to.

I remind myself, almost daily, that giving up is not an option.

The 4th Thanksgiving without Camp wasn’t easier, it was different.

The grief didn’t overwhelm me on the actual holiday, I came in a wave after the dust settled and the smoke from the hustle and bustle cleared.

Anytime I’m struggling, it helps me to find a way to help someone else or give back....

Knowing this wave was probably coming, I did my best to prepare. Izzy and I made little gift bags and sweet treats and delivered them, we hosted a few friends for dinner, we ran in the @fasterwaytofatloss 5k for @stjude and we did all of the family festivities.

Still, grief finds me. It’s not that I hide from it anymore, but each day, each holiday, each event...I find ways to cope a little more.

With each year, I’m learning not to run from it, but to allow myself to sit in it. I let the wave wash over me, but not allow it to hold me down.

I’m doing my very best to view this wave of grief as a cleansing flood rather than a suffocating blow.

God is so gracious to be so patient with me and I’m learning to be more patient with myself.

If you’re hurting this week too when so many seem to be having the time of their life, don’t forget that you’re not alone. Jesus is sitting with you, He’s holding you and you can hold tightly to His hope.

Our Black Friday shopping today consisted of Tractor Supply, Lowe’s, Wal-Mart and the feed store! My oh my how my life has changed!

This 11 year old diva has no less than 30 items on her Christmas list! Items wanted vary greatly and she has even provided a key as to who can buy what for her! How kind! 😝

✨This girl is more than a client! She’s a rockstar! I am one proud coach!✨

Three months ago she took a step toward taking care of herself and her health! She spends so much time encouraging others and she continues to do that by cheering us all on as she crushes her own health goals!

Was she scared to start? Yes, most of us are!
But, she moved past her excuses and shows up everyday and does the work!

I’m so proud of my sweet Christen...client (& friend). She is always cheering others on, now I want us to cheer her on! I’m so proud of your hard work, dedication, and the light you continue to shine to others!

🏃🏽‍♀️The pic on the left is from our non-profit’s 5k, The Happy Camper, and the pic on the right is from our @fasterwaytofatloss 5k that she ran today! Both events support childhood cancer awareness and research and she’s beautiful in both, but the changes I see from today are amazing!🥰

If you wonder why I'm getting up on Thanksgiving morning to run a 5k...he's it.

Campbell Jude Tatum...my fighter, my buddy, my courageous boy. I miss you every second of every day and I want to see a cure.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While you were here, there wasn't a cure for you. I want to fight to find that cure for other kids that will battle just like you did. I don't know why God gave us this road to walk, but I truly believe that your journey will help lead doctors toward a cure for someone else.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The work of St. Jude is like none other. I am running on Thanksgiving Morning in the FasterWay 5k to help find a cure. I didn't know when I started health coaching a few months ago that this would be the event or charity in November, but it's another confirmation that I'm where God wants me to be.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not only can I help encourage other women (many like me who feel like they are at the bottom of a pit) on their health and wellness journey, but I get to join with this amazing community to support a place that is so incredibly special to me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'll never be able to repay St. Jude for all that they did for Camp and our entire family, but every little bit that I can give back I know is making a difference.

I'm not trying to do ALL THE THINGS for every Thanksgiving gathering. I am doing some things and saying no to the rest.

I may not bring the most glamorous charcuterie board this year, or the most elaborate cake, but I'm ok with that. I'm not gonna win the prize for most like Joanna Gaines this year, but I'm ok with that too. I'm just gonna do Sarah the best I can.

I love, love, love cookbooks and I'm not scared to try something new, but there are a few staples that I always go back to!
