At Home Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt

If you wonder why I'm getting up on Thanksgiving morning to run a 5k...he's it.

Campbell Jude Tatum...my fighter, my buddy, my courageous boy. I miss you every second of every day and I want to see a cure.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While you were here, there wasn't a cure for you. I want to fight to find that cure for other kids that will battle just like you did. I don't know why God gave us this road to walk, but I truly believe that your journey will help lead doctors toward a cure for someone else.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The work of St. Jude is like none other. I am running on Thanksgiving Morning in the FasterWay 5k to help find a cure. I didn't know when I started health coaching a few months ago that this would be the event or charity in November, but it's another confirmation that I'm where God wants me to be.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not only can I help encourage other women (many like me who feel like they are at the bottom of a pit) on their health and wellness journey, but I get to join with this amazing community to support a place that is so incredibly special to me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'll never be able to repay St. Jude for all that they did for Camp and our entire family, but every little bit that I can give back I know is making a difference.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Holidays are full...full of a lot of fun, but can also be full of a lot of stress if you allow it to be!

One of the ways I'm helping myself this holiday season is by doing what I can to make things more SIMPLE!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm not trying to do ALL THE THINGS for every Thanksgiving gathering. I am doing some things and saying no to the rest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I may not bring the most glamorous charcuterie board this year, or the most elaborate cake, but I'm ok with that. I'm not gonna win the prize for most like Joanna Gaines this year, but I'm ok with that too. I'm just gonna do Sarah the best I can.

I love, love, love cookbooks and I'm not scared to try something new, but there are a few staples that I always go back to!

I’m learning to push aside the feelings of shame that surface over emotions that I struggle with.

I battle with overwhelm, anxiety, comparison, self-worth and so many more plaguing thoughts that I’d probably never tell anyone.

But, even when I think I’m about to break...God’s promises find me. His truth holds me up. His grace catches me.

Today as I stretched and finished my @fasterwaytofatloss workout, I was overwhelmed with the thoughts of God’s goodness toward me.

Sunday’s are good for my soul...I have to take that time to force myself into slowdown mode, spend time with other believers and reflect on God’s word.
.
Today, I sat in the gratitude of God’s love. Even when I’ve given up on myself, He never gives up on me.

For the Lord is good, and His faithful love endures forever, through all generations.
Psalm 100:5

Have you ever been just minding your own business, having a great day, focused on just taking care of you and someone comes along and bumps into your happy?

Maybe that "bump" comes from a rude comment, a condescending remark, a strange look...or maybe a hurt from someone you love and trust.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I heard Lysa TerKeurst say this on a podcast with Annie F. Downs this week and it struck me in a real way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She was talking about "pre"-forgiveness. We need to be prepared to forgive each day before we even have the opportunity to be hurt or offended. Just because someone lays down an offense doesn't mean we have to pick it up.

We can choose to be offended.
We can choose to forgive.
.
.
Let me tell you something...if you're in the middle of something good, the enemy will send someone across your path to bump into your happy and try to derail you.
.
.
If you're having family time...bump
...on a date with the hubs...bump
...getting ready for church...bump
...having lunch with a friend...bump
...working to serve someone else...bump
.
.
The enemy wants to send so many things to bump into your happy, but you can be PREPARED. I have downloaded my copy of Lysa's new book on @audible (because multitasking is my jam) and I can't wait to dive in this weekend!

God has presented this idea of forgiveness to me so many times over the last several months and I'm expecting sore toes from being stepped on so many times, but I'm also eager for what God will teach me.

The hard work of forgiveness is WORTH it! I promise!

Here’s another helping hand in planning your meals this week…save this post for ideas and inspo with food this week!

You don’t have to carry around a stack full of cookbooks to make meals healthy and homemade for you and your family.

You also don’t have to overcomplicate the process.

👉🏼Here are a few tips I use when planning meals:
1. Repeat lunches at least twice a week
2. Pick one main protein for the week
3. Don’t be too good for leftovers
4. Focus on “complete” meals & snacks (fat, carbs & protein)
5. Keep a list of your favorite meals/snacks and reuse them every few weeks

***KEEP IT SIMPLE***

LISTEN…I know you THINK it would be easier if someone just told you what to eat every day of your life, but it really wouldn’t be better. It may be easier at first, but it wouldn’t be fun for very long and it also wouldn’t be sustainable.

It takes a little time to experiment with what you like and what fits into your macros, but once you do and that lightbulb goes off, it’s so rewarding and it’s sustainable.

There’s a huge difference in you learning what to do and just doing what someone else tells you to do!
